Headstone: 
 

  • Style:  a one sided, upright headstone with a curved top and slit wedge bottom on a thick base. 
     

  • Symbols:  the rounded top brings to mind a scroll,
    a symbol of life and time. Across the top of the headstone is a palm frond, a symbol of victory. In the Bible, it is used to symbolize Jesus' triumphant return to Jerusalem.
    On headstones, it represents the victory of the spirit over the flesh. 
     

  • Condition/Status: 
           Cleaned - October 2019 - Orvus & D2
           Structure - Leveling needed

Headstone: 
 

  • Style:  small tablet with a rounded top
     

  • Symbols:  none
     

  • Condition/Status: Nevada's headstone is one of the cemetery's most damaged.
           Cleaned - October 2019
           Structure - fractured into three pieces it is scheduled         to be one of the first headstones repaired. Once                 cleaned, we expect to better read the epitaph at the           bottom, 'Darling we miss you.'

Nevada was one year old when she died. Her death certificate, added by Sandy Lyle on FindAGrave.com, notes her cause of death as acute bronchitis with acute colitis contributing.
